DIFFERENT WORLDS

Knowing your taste is knowing yourself

The Note

I think knowing your taste is a form of knowing yourself.

Which is getting harder because we see EVERYTHING now.

Everything is accessible.
Everything is inspiration.
Everything is saved somewhere.

And sometimes I wonder…

Do I actually like this, or have I just seen it 17 times?

Maybe creativity isn't about trying to make something nobody has ever seen before.

Maybe that's impossible.

Maybe it's about seeing a million things and somehow still having the audacity to say:

No. Not that.

That.

The strange thing.
The ugly thing.
The colour that shouldn't work.
The thing everyone else walks past and you can't stop staring at.

I think that's taste.

And maybe true attractiveness starts there too.

Knowing what you like.
Knowing what feels like you.
Letting yourself be weird about it.

Because imagine having access to the whole world...

and still choosing your own.

Welcome to Different Worlds.
